Yesterday we had our third injection

YESTERDAY WE HAD OUR THIRD INJECTION - everything went smoothly. Except for the fact that the nurses had to struggle to find a good vein for the IV. We've noticed that after each stem cell transfusion, Gruia is very thirsty. He keeps asking for milk though. We have bought from the supermarket milk in small (250 ml) cardboard bottles, which is very handy.

However, water is much better for his rehydration. He plays with the water bottle until his t-shirt is completely wet upfront :) .

It is great to see the usual Gruia we got used to back to his former frenzy. After the spinal injection from Friday last week he didn't do well for two days. We suspect it has been something related to the anaesthesia, because after waking up from the six hours sleep induced for the spinal injection he was dizzy, not fully able to walk properly and generally very weak. And we had to go through a couple of vomiting episodes too. His stomach has been very sensitive.

But he recovered very quickly. And now is as naughty and active as before the spinal. Maybe even a little more active than before. Everybody in the ward is spoiling him, as he walks day in and day out the corridors and enters in every room whose door was left unlocked. He's very inquisitive (he was always like this) and stubborn. And he's a people's person. The Chinese nurses love him and play with him whenever they find the time. For that matter he has already learned a few words in Chinese from them.
