First day in China - Ni hao?

FIRST DAY IN CHINA - NI HAO? We have finally arrived in Shijiazhuang. Gruia accommodated easily to the long flights Bucharest-London-Beijing and to the extra 4 hours and a half minibus ride to Shijiazhuang. He is such a brave child!

Once arrived at the hospital we were welcomed at the entrance by the medical staff members (all of whom have westernised names) and lead to our room on the third floor of the wing, where the international department is located.

We were told that Shijiazhuang is the hottest place in China at this time of the year (there are 40 degrees Celsis outside right now, no kidding). Luckily the whole international wing of the hospital has air conditioning, which makes our stay here comfortable.

For the rest of the day after our arrival we were acquainted with the hospital building and we met the other international patients (people from Venezuela, USA, Ireland etc.). And after the doctors checked Gruia very briefly we finally went to sleep. We are confident Gruia will only get better now and will soon be able to see. No matter how new everything is right now around us (the people are different, the traffic is a total chaos, the food is different etc.), we cannot stop to think that this trip to China would have never been possible without the support of Gruia's friends. We will always be hugely indebted to them. We want to thank one more time Bogdan Surdu (Tim) for helping us to buy the flight tickets that we needed. We hope to meet him here and to thank him in person.

Here is one photo taken in the airplane. And one with the airplane itself that flew us to Beijing.
